Customer Service
You need to come into the Utility Office at City Hall (118 W Central) main floor. Please bring with you a form of picture ID and something pre-printed with your Social Security Number on it. You will be asked to fill out and sign a service request agreeing to pay for the water service at the location requested. We can turn service on without anyone at the residence as long as all the faucets are shut off. We will only let 10 gallons go through the meter if no one is at the address before turning it back off and leaving a door tag to make arrangements to meet someone to try the service "on" again. A connection service charge of $25.00 is due at the time of request.
Water is billed 30 days after it is used, the dates for the water service will appear on your billing statement in the ‘from’ and ‘to’ columns. The consumption on the bill is figured in hundreds of gallons. You can use up to 2000 gallons for a minimum water charge, which is based on the size of your meter. The minimum for a 5/8" residential water service is $13.00 per month. There are taxes billed on water as well as a state fee (.032cents per thousand). Garbage is picked up once a week and will show on your billing as RF for refuse. We also have a storm water program, which is billed on the utility bill under the code ST and is a fee of $3.00 per month residential to offset the costs of maintaining curbs, guttering and storm drainage ditches. Sewer is billed to those customers hooked up to the City's sanitary sewer system. It will show on the bill as SW. It is figured by using the first three months of the year’s water billings averaged. This will become the sewer rate base for the residence for the remainder of the year, and changes in April.

Call City Hall at 441-4407 to have a qualifying form mailed to you, or you may pick a form up at the utility billing front counter or customer service office on the main floor of City Hall.
