Crews Respond to Paris Park Fire

On January 1, 2024, the Arkansas City Fire/EMS Department responded to a reported structure fire at the Paris Park pavilion in Arkansas City. The emergency call was received at approximately 4:00 a.m.

 

Upon arrival, firefighters were met with heavy flames engulfing the south end of the pavilion. Crews were able to contain the fire in the area, preventing further spread and minimizing potential damage.

 

Preliminary assessments indicate an estimated $10,000 in damages from the incident.

 

The Arkansas City Police Department was the first to arrive at the scene upon receiving the emergency call. The investigation into the fire commenced promptly after it was extinguished, focusing on obtaining video footage and conducting interviews to gather essential information about the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
